THE ORIGINAL KEEPAH™
DREAMT UP ON A BOAT, PROUDLY HANDCRAFTED IN SO PO, MAINE.
The Original Keepah™ cuff design was born off the coast of Bermuda one late May night in 2008. Nate Hicks was ferrying a friend's sailboat from Tortola back to its home port in Maine when the idea came to him. As soon as Nate landed in Portland, he promptly had three beers, took a much deserved shower and headed straight to the studio to make the first Keepah™ wrist cuff. His wife Anne still wears the very first Keepah™ today.
Each Original Keepah™ cuff is made from an official gauge used by lobstermen and women to determine if a lobster is of legal size—or a “keeper.” They are solid marine grade brass, hammer-forged by hand, and brought to a high polish. Initials or meaningful dates can be stamped on the inner aspect of the cuff to personalize it to your liking. For those who prefer white metals, custom Keepah™ cuffs can be created from sterling silver.
